  • H1B and H4 Stamping fees

    Hi,
I am currently in US working on H1B (got L1 to H1 COS in Jan 2011) and my wife is on H4. we have never got our H Visa stamped. Can you please tell me the fees that I will have to pay at Mumbai US consulate.
will it be just Rs INR 7050 + 380 or do I need to pay additional INR 94000 too ?

    Appreciate your quick response.

    Thanks

Check the VFS website for fees. 7000 seems to be the right ballpark. I don't know where the 94000 comes from.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Thanks,
Also can my wife get her stamping done before me while I am in US .

Additional H and L Visa fees under Public Law 111-230
Under Public Law 111-230 requires an additional fee of $2,250 for covered L-1A and L-1B petitions and $2, 000 for covered H-1B petitions. This fee is in addition to the base processing fee and the existing Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee required for a Petition Nonimmigrant Worker.
These additional fees apply to petitioners with more than 50 employees in the United States and with more than 50 percent of those employees in H-1B or L (including L-1A, L-1B, and L-2) status.

Your wife can apply before you using your petition approval notice.

The new fee is collected from the employer at the time of filing petition.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
