  • H1B travel to Puerto Rico

I was here in the US on H4 visa and recently I was accepted for a position in the US and got my H1B visa. But my passport still has H4 visa stamped.

My husband and myself are planning to go to puerto rico. Do I need to carry my passport?

I have a state id which i normally use for domestic travel. Also we are planning to go by air and mostly considering a direct flight.

You should carry your passport and change of status approval notice. Those are sufficient.
Puerto Rico is a US territory. For travel you will not be asked for anything other than your state ID or DL. Get a little primer on Spanish since that is the primary language there. Enjoy your trip.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
