H1B Visa - Work from home in India for a short time

Hi
Currently I am in US on H1B visa. I need to go to India and stay there for 2-3 months. Is it possible I can work in India for my company and in US payroll?
Will it be a problem if I return back at POE? or my next H1b extension?
