H1 Stamping and Passport Renewal

Hi,

I am on H1 status in US and I need to get my H1 stamping done when I go to India.
I am planning to go India around Nov 2011.

Now my passport expires in March 2012.My question is , assuming I get stamping done in Nov 2011,
Do I need to renew my passport before I enter US ?

You can go for the renewal once you come back to US.

Advisable to renew it before you go for the stamping. There are chances that you may get the visa stamped only till the passport expiry date or when you enter U.S you may get an I-94 only till the passport expiry date.
Passport renewal in U.S takes about 3 - 4 weeks. So better renew it now rather than taking chances.
