  • When to start the GC process?

    Hi
I am on H1b and my employer doesnt do gc processing and hence I need to change my current employer so as to get the GC process initiated,

Dear experts, please let me know when is the best time I should start looking for such an employer. I only have 1.5 yrs left out of the 6 years of H1b.
I intend to stay in this comp for some more time. How much is the safe time after which I should definitely find some other employer?

    Thanks in advance
    Jin

In order to get the 7th year extension your labor and I-140 should have been approved or the labor should be pending for more than 365 days. I think you should start looking for an employer who can process your GC now. It takes some time to gather the documents to file the labor.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. My H1b extn is in process.. Is that a good idea to initiate labor from employer A while working for employer B (who is also have your h1b extension filed)
