  • Convert H1B to H4 for now and later need H1B

    Hi
Can any one explain this scenario?
I am working on H1B Visa (valid for another 2 years), For some familily reasons I am planning to stay away from work for some period ( around 6-8 months). so looking to convert the H1B to H4 for that time

So what happens if I try for another job after 6 months? Do I need to apply a fresh H1B for the current quota? or can I use my approved quota for the new H1B ?
If I can use the approved quota, while applying a new job after 6 months, can I start work immidiately after getting the receipt notice? (like H1B transfer) or do I need to wait till the status approved (like Cos from H4 to H1B)?

Any help would be greately appreciated.
    Thanks

Any employer can file a new H1B using the CAP from the existing H1B approval notice. Just give the new employer a copy of your existing approval notice.

You cannot work with just the receipt notice. Your status should change from H4 to H1B for you to start working again.
