  • H1B -Change of designation

    Hi All,
    I'm a fulltime employee at a company who holds my H1B.
    When I joined them it was in an IT developer position and now they are offering a posistion as a analyst.
    Pls advice what is the process/forms to be filled to indicate this change of situation in my H1B.

    I think this change is a good opportunity but are there any immigration complications

    Pls advice
    Thanks in advance

      Thanks. Now i do understand that an H1B amendment would be required.

      Just a clarification
      My current H1B status is valid till Jun 2012.
      If I do apply for the H1B amendment and its rejected, will my current H1B be still valid.
      Can I continue to work for my employer as a developer?

          Thanks again.
          One more query.

          If my H1B amendment is approved and 5 months down the the line I want to get back to coding
          1. In that case I need to apply for an another amendment correct?
          2. Is it an issue to apply for some many amedments. Is there a cap
          3. If my husband gets an EAD and I choose to use the EAD, then I dont have to file for amendments and can make career choices without amendments. Correct?

          Thanks in advance.

            >>> Correct.

            2. Is it an issue to apply for some many amedments.
            >>> No.

            Is there a cap
            >>> No.

            >>> When you start working on the EAD, then you are no longer in the H1B status and so no need to file H1B amendment.
