H1B Visa Extension help

Hi All,

My H1B visa is going to expire on Jan 2012.
My employer has applied for an LCA with Period of Intended Employment as
Begin Date April 2011
End Date Dec 2012.

My question is when my Visa Extension is applied will I be issued Visa for 3 years or only till Dec 2012.
