L1b to h1b

Hi,

I am currently on L1 B Visa and would like to apply for H1B. Could somebody tell me how much H1 cap is left for 2012 and can I apply for it now? I have inquired with a consultancy company but they said they cannot file H1 for this year.

Out of 65000 CAP eligible petitions, the limit has reached 56,300. If you act fast, you can still file it
