  • H4 to F1 change and reentry

    Hi Experts,

I have a questions regarding COS from H4 to F1 and reentry.

Assume we have got approval for COS and we need to travel outside US. I know we have to stamp for the COS and apply for F1.

What are the options to reenter US if the F1 visa gets denied. Can a person reenter in this case on previously held H4 (Assume the H4 visa is not expired).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Ankit

Yes. But when you apply for F1, the consulate might very likely cancel your previous valid H4 visa. If they don't then yuo can enter U.S in H4 visa provided your spouse is maintaining a valid H1B status. If H4 is cancelled, then you will have to apply for H4 visa again.
