  • H1B transfer

I've heard that any proof of filing of I-129 is sufficient and legal for a worker to start working for new employer - this inclds things like FedEx receipt of mail by which docs have been sent to USCIS.

Anyone aware of this...can throw more light.

Also these days what is typical lead time for H1 transfer cases for Vermont center...is 2/3 weeks usual for receipt of the application?

If you are not changing the immigration status ( ie If you applied for transfer of H1 from one employer to other , or if you applied for extension of H1 ) then you can start working from the day they issue the receipt number.
