H1B extension

HI,

My H1B VISA is valid from 21-Jun-2012 to 07-May-2013. But my US travelling date will be first week of march 2013 only.

My question is that, whether that time I can apply for H1B extension from US? Or If any specific number of days I should stay in US for applying H1B extension? (like minimum I have stay 6 months in US then only I can apply for extension)

Could you please anybody help me.

Your employer can file for an extension up to 6 months before petition expiry.

When you enter U.S, they will issue you an I-94 at the POE. YOu should file the extension anytime before the I-94 expiry date. Extension can be filed 6 months prior to the I-94 expiry date.
