Q.23 What is the procedure for paying this fee (Public law 111-230)?
Ans The applicant must pay $2,000 for certain H-1B petitions and $2,250 for certain L-1A and L-1B petitions (or the equivalent in local currency) in cash or by demand draft made out to “U.S. Embassy New Delhi” or American Consulate General, Mumbai” or “U.S. Consulate General, Chennai (Kolkata and Hyderabad as applicable)” at the time of interview, regardless of the final outcome of the interview. If the fee is not paid at the time of interview, the applicant will be sent away with a letter requesting payment and the case will not be adjudicated
I am going to be interviewed for H1, I haven't heard of this fee before, So do I need to carry this much amount at interview place?
