Me and my wife are planning to Puerto Rico. Both are on valid H1 visa but without stamp on passport. Is is it advisable to plan a trip to Puerto Rico, I heard since Puerto Rico is a part of US terriory I need not carry any passport driving license should be sufficient but issue is we have NJ license and license states Temp Immigration Status (not sure if it tells for other states). Please let me know if I can travel to Puerto Rico.

puerto rico is part of the US. it's just as visiting any other state. you only need a visa stamp if you are entering the US from abroad. just make sure you don't leave the US.

The above is correct. But keep all your papers with you. If possible get a letter from your company's lawyer explaining how you are in legal status.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

It's a domestic trip, but they do spot checks, and I think there are customs checks. Have proof of your status with you just in case.
