Filling H1 Petition - Current and future employer

Hi,

Please let me know if it is legal. My current employer told me to file my H1 petition in April, 2013. But I am not sure if they will keep their promise. Meanwhile I am searching new USA employer who can file my H1 petition in April, 2013.

Will USCIS reject my H1 petitions in case both employer (current and future) file my H1 petition? Is it legal?

Any number of employer can file petitions for you. But you can only work for any one of them at a time. (Unless petitions are specifically filed for concurrent employment).
