I'm currently in Removal Proceedings while my wife's I-130 is still pending. My wife and I need to leave the country in order to go to school and have no problem abandoning the case. We just need to leave as soon as possible. A judge explained to me that I can file a motion for an expedited trial to ask for voluntary departure, before the date they gave me for my master hearing. The master hearing is still in May and we simply cannot wait that long.
Anyone have any experience with this? Do I just file a motion and send it to the court? Do you think this will take long? I just want to leave the country. Any advice would be extremely appreciated.
