I and my wife and traveling to Hawaii from nyc in December for vacation. My wife is a US citizen and I am on H1b work permit. My adjustment of status is pending and I don’t have the advanced parole (EAD card) yet nor will I get it by December. My h1b visa stamping on passport is expired even though I have a valid I-797.
I recently heard there is an increase in border patrol agents for flights coming back from Hawaii. Even though there is no immigration check and that Hawaii is a US state, these checks are random. I do have legal work permit and I’ll be traveling with my wife.
Has anyone traveled to Hawaii in recent couple years and experienced any challenges in returning back to any other state?
