Which form to choose? 1040NR or 1040EZ
Hi
My wife (who was on a dependent visa and hence not working) and I were a residents of California/US from Jan 1st till May 31st 2013 (150 days).
We left US on May 31st. Should I file my tax using 1040NR or 1040EZ?
I read a lot of posts that say that 1040NR is for anyone who has less than 180 days in USA.
But some posts also say that if your spouse was also here and you were filing jointly you can actually file as a resident ie., 1040EZ.
I am going to file the taxes electronically. Which form should I choose?
Doens anyone have any suggestions/recommendations for an online tool to use to file taxes from outside USA?
I am planning on using taxActonline.com for now.
