I'm on an F1 visa and worked last summer here in the US using the CPT program. However, I now realized that I need a W2 to file taxes and so far I have not gotten one, and I am not sure if I will. The reason why I suspect that is because I never shared my SSN with my employer (as in, they never asked for it). What should I do? It is a really small company so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't know 100% what they're doing (though I do know they have a skilled accountant so the problem is more of a misunderstanding I think). If I ask them about it, would they be able to change things up and generate one for me? Or is it too late for that? In that case, what happens then (since I can't file taxes)?
