Bank account jointly owned by person living outside the US and a resident alien
I am a resident alien for IRS purposes and I jointly have a bank account with my father who lives outside the US and is not a US citizen or permanent resident. Do we still owe tax on the entire interest of that account even though one of us is not a resident alien or citizen?
