Visa Approved - How long it stays in Administrative processing

Hi All,

I had Visa interview yesterday (17.Nov). VO said he is approving the application - kept my passport and didn't give 221 g.

I checked Visa status today and it says under 'Administrative Processing'. Do you know if it is a usual for application to under Administrative Processing before reaching Issued state?

If its normal to see Administrative Processing for approved Visa, do you know, usually in how many days it comes out of Administrative Processing (assuming it hasn't gone into actual investigation as VO clearly told he is approving the application)

It happens a lot for Indians. But haven't heard that for Canadian Citizens.

So, in short, its quite possible that the VO said the visa is approved at the time of interview. But later before stamping the visa in passport, they found out that they want to re-check something about the candidate's profile & hence they put that application on Admin processing & hold the passport with them.

Try to reach out to local embassy after a week time & check the status.
