A friend of mine is having a major problem, and I'm writing on behalf of her.
She's working in NYC with an L1B visa. The in-house legal department messed up, and "forgot about" the L1B-L1A conversion process. She has been given a deadline of May 4th on Friday. (One month ago, the legal department said the deadline was some time in September)
Our home county's consulate is closed due to COVID. She had an appointment on April 19th in Chile, but they closed borders. We're from a third-world country and basically half of the world requires visas. We're looking for a country's US embassy who is processing foreign national's L1 visas, whose country's visa processing won't take more than a week, and whose borders are not closed. She has emailed to at least 30 embassies but no positive replies yet.
The lawyer she's working with is not guiding much.
What else can she do?
