Fraud Detection Fee Payment for L1B Blanket

Hello

I got to know that there is a Fraud Detection fee payment of $500 that needs to be done before consular interview. I have following questions

1. Does Indian Credit Card like HDFC/ICICI work?
2. Do we get receipt of the same to reimburse later?
3. What is the conversion rate to be used in case to be paid in Cash?
4. What name the DD to be drawn....I saw different names on 2-3 sites, hence confirming

1. Does Indian Credit Card like HDFC/ICICI work?
Answer: Yes. It is doable, if credit card has a authority to make these kind of payments.
2. Do we get receipt of the same to reimburse later?
Answer: I am not sure about reimburse. These things you will need to check with concern embassy/ consulate.
3. What is the conversion rate to be used in case to be paid in Cash?
Answer:

Current Consular Exchange Rate:	76.00 INR = 1 USD
Current Rate Valid Through:	03/11/2021

4. What name the DD to be drawn....I saw different names on 2-3 sites, hence confirming
Answer: As per US consulate and Embassy in India website information,

• Drafts from co-operative banks are not accepted
• Please write your complete name, passport number and telephone number on the back of each Demand Draft
• Demand Drafts should favor the “American Embassy”, be in Indian Rupees, and be based on the current consular exchange rate.
