  • Discrimination against L2 visa holders for jobs?

    HI,

I will be moving to the US on an L1B visa sometime next year from India. My fiance (getting married in December) is a consultant at Infosys Consulting and she, on an L2 visa, will be looking to apply for a job in a similar role in the US. As per the new USCIS rule, we understand that L2 visa holders don't need to apply for work authorization separately. However, we have been hearing that L2 visa holders are discriminated against when applying for jobs. We are being told that companies don't prefer hiring L2 visa holders. Has anyone heard of this? Especially in the field of consulting? Where can I get additional information regarding this?

    Regards,
    Rachit

It seems like L2 visa holders often have a tough time finding jobs, and that just doesn’t sit right. It can feel like being stuck in a catch-22—wanting to work but facing discrimination just because of your visa status.
