Intended stay for F2?

Hello! Kindly help me.

I recently gave an F2 interview that got rejected 214B. I am not sure of the reason. However, I read online that F2 intended stay should be much lesser than my husband's Visa validity.

I read that, For example, if his visa status is 2 years valid from now, the intended stay that I should put in DS160 should be just a few weeks. If I put 1 year intended stay, that could also lead to rejection. Is it true? Did any of you had their Visa rejected and then accepted if you reduced your intended stay?

I don't think that is the reason you are rejected, i have a friend that put the same years for her husband to complete his academic and she was granted f2 visa.
