Hi everyone!
I am currently in valid F1 status on post-completion OPT. I got my BA in Acting and have mainly been working as actor since receiving my EAD card. However, I recently got offered a PT job at at local theatre working a front of house/ box office position and am unsure if a job like that qualifies as "directly related to my major".
I have asked various DSOs and fellow students who have done post-completion OPT and have gotten contradicting answers, though most seem to agree it's acceptable employment under my status. And everything I found online is just very vague about what "directly related" exactly means. So yeah, I just still don't really know what to believe and thought asking this community might help. I may be overthinking this, but I just don't wanna do anything wrong. So any advice, thoughts, or experience on this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
