  • After traveling 6 months in US and getting TN visa

    Hello everyone,

I am a Canadian citizen planning on applying for the TN Visa under Graphic Designer.
I am currently in the United States as a tourist, entered with a B-2 visa (tourist visa)
I was not looking for a job but got a job offer from a company.
They are willing to provide me all the necessary documents to get the TN Visa, but my main preoccupation is whether the border officer will find it suspicious that I was in the United States for 6 months and then immediately after leaving try to re-enter and get TN status.
Will this cause any problems or get me rejected?
I tried to find a similar situation, but there wasn't enough information, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

No, why do you think it would appear suspicious?
If the officer asks, you would tell him/her the truth: you were a tourist who was offered a job and decided to accept it.

It's absolutely normal to leave & immediately re-enter the USA to obtain a TN visa, since that's the fastest way to get it.
