  • British passport and US transit visa

    Hi

I am currently living in the Cayman Islands and I have a British passport
that expires 2 August 2007. I am therefore planning to fly back to England for a week in July (13th) to obtain a new passport. I will be flying to London via Miami International airport. Can you please confirm whether I will be allowed to do that or whether I need 6 months remaining on my passport to go through Miami?

I am hoping to book my flights today/tomorrow so your urgent attention
    would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks

I think you would be allowed as you are just transiting.

However, to the best of my knowledge, there is one British Airways flight
out of Cayman Island that goes directly to London with no stops in US.

My mother in Montserrat needs help with flying to the U.S., please provide me info

My mother is 86 years old with a British passport and needs to visit the U.S. for 3-6 months on vacation with me and my family. Would she be able to be allowed to enter without a visa or waiver or what does she need in order to come visit? She is a resident from Montserrat which is under/ruled by England (West Indies).

If anyone can, please and be so kind to give sources/provide useful information to help me understand better.

She probably needs to do an ESTA. She does not need a Visa.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Is she a full British citizen? If she is just a British overseas territory citizen en shed Ned a visa. In any case shed need a visa to stay for more than 90 days. She'd have to apply for one in Bridgetown.
