  • B2 Visa for my mom sponsored by my cousin sister - what are the risks of rejection ?

    Hi fellow members ,

I am a single son and my father has expired couple of years ago . My cousin sister who is in H1B and is in US from last 4 years ( Mother's sister's daughter) is asking my mom to visit her in US .

If she sends across the invite and other required docs will it be safe to get the B2 visa approved ?
Or will the officer have doubts over why my cousin is inviting my mom over to her place ?

Also in future-perspective even If I get a H1/L1 visa down the line I have come to understand the chances of rejection of B2 visa is pretty high since my mom is a single parent with single child .

Also if applied B2 based on my cousin's invite my mom can pose a strong case of dependency of having her single son who is currently in India .

So please suggest if I can proceed with my cousin's request without any fear of rejection OR are there any tips/suggestions that i need to consider .

Any kind of suggestions are appreciated , please guide !!

    Thanks in advance !

Instead of just casual visit, she may give a try with strong purpose, along with other relatives.

Like any family function, marriage or house warming ceremony etc.

    But, what about her profession?
how much salary she draws, if she is working?
    What about her travel history?
What is your profession and income?
    Are you single or married?

All above things will play vital role in approval of her visa.

As you said, it will be more difficult to get b2, when you are on H1.

But plan, prepare and perform well with care.

This is my opinion, not a legal advice.

As I said previously, it is better to travel with other family members to attend any family occasion or tourism than simply going alone without any strong reason all the way to USA.

This is my opinion, not a legal advice.
