  • UK Young Single Male - Chances of B2?

Currently planning to do a thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail (2600 mile long trail starting at the Mexican border in California and ending on the Canadian Border in Washington) sometime in the next few years and was wondering about my chances of getting a 6 month B2 visa.

A quick run-down of my circumstances are as follows:
    • I am a 22 year old single male, UK born citizen and so is all of my family who still reside in the UK.
    • I have no family / friends / partner who are US citizens or currently live there.
    • I work in London as a Software Developer and have permission to take a 6 month period off unpaid and then return to the same job.
    • I rent my house and have no significant assets (like a car etc), I will have around £10000-£15000 in the bank.

The hike itself is planned out pretty well and I would be able to show detailed itineraries, purchased hiking gear, permits etc which hopefully is better than just being like "Oh I want to just wander around for 6 months doing touristy things".

Is this enough to prove I have strong ties to the UK? Are there any other specific things I could do to help in the next year or so excluding getting married or buying a house?

    Thanks
