B2 visa sponsoring during H1B extension period

Hi ,

Currently I am in USA with expired VISA and I94 . I have already applied for H1B extension and I got the receipt ID for same from USCIS. But As we know, now days processing of extension of H1B is taking more than usual time ( around 5 – 6 month now) . This is a long duration. I want to invite my parents here in this duration.
I have a question that do we have any problem If I will apply for my parent VISA (B2 visa) when I am not having valid visa . Will that create any issue ? Is there any condition that sponsor should have valid visa while requesting B2 VISA for parents.

Please suggest.

You can sponsor your parents visa without any problem with H1 extension receipt.
