Need details on administrative processing with a yellow handout

My parents had an interview today at the Delhi consulate for visitor's visa.
My father was given 10 yr . multiple entry visa, for my mother, the officer mentioned that there would be a delay in giving the visa since there are some administrative processing needed. They were given a yellow slip and my mother's passport was returned.
Can someone please let me know what that indicates and does it mean that her visa application has been rejected and we need to apply once again.
The consulate officer has mentioned that they will be getting in touch in the next 4-6 weeks.
I would appreciate any help regarding this matter.

There is no information on the yellow handout though on that link. Do you know what that means?

Hi All,

It has been 10 weeks since my parents went for the visa interview at the Delhi consulate, and they had given the yellow handout to my mother and had returned the passport, mentioning that they will do some administrative processing and will get back in 6-8 weeks.
Since we have still not heard back from them, can someone please advise as to how we can find out about the status of the visa.
Also, is there some number in Washington that I can call to get more information?

Check the status

If it is Chennai , then you can view the status online. I don't know about Delhi. My father's visa is pending for more than 4 month. Also you can check the status by calling DHC in Washington. If they say that it is cleared, then you should contact Delhi consulate, otherwise no point in calling Delhi Consulate.
