  • Visitor visa for my mom or motherinlaw

    Hi,
Me and my wife both are the only kids(no brothers nor sisters) in our families and we both do not have fathers.
We tried getting our moms for a visit to US but in vain.
    They have been rejected thrice.
Everytime the only Q being asked, how many kids u have?
When they say one, they are asked to go home.
We want to try one last time,
My daughter who is 8 years old has been selected in participating in the Newyork state gymnastis championships this june.
Can we invite our moms for this occasion so that they can cheer their grand daughter.
    Will this work?
How can we proceed on this issue?
they are even capable of sponsoring themselves, they have their own houses to live in bangalore and there is no way they are going to stay but why are they getting rejected is clueless.
Can you please give us some suggestions.
    Please let us know
    Thanks in advance
    Arun

Officers are looking for family or occupation ties that will bring the applicant back. No children, no husband in India means no family ties. What they should do is show some strong link to India in the form of a job/ business/other vocation developed over a period of time.

    Daughter's reason is frivolous.

both my mother and mother in law have got the visa

First of all I have to Thank immihelp for having this form and also thank all for sharing the info.
      I have a good news.
After 3 attempts both my mother and my mother in law have got visa's.
I sent my mom first for the interview and the cleared her visa. She has got 10year multiple entry visa.
After a week I sent my mother in law(after much persuasion).
Even she has got the visa.
they both have told them that they will be staying here for a month(which is true)
The reason given was they are attending my daughters state level gymnastics competition and university awarding ceremony.I am not sure if that did the trick or not but they have got the visa's
Just wanted to shared this with you people.

        Hi,

How much time gap did they give between the interviews and how did you show strong ties this time?
