Gender mistake in DS 156 Form

Hi,

By mistake, one my friend has given his mother's gender as male in DS 156 form and he has scheduled his parents visa appointment on March 3rd.

Will it cause any issue at the time of interview ?
Is there anyway to change the gender to female in DS156 form.
Have any one faced this type of issue and if so wat was done to solve ?

Pls. help me & my frnd in this regard.

I don't think it will create any issue. During interview just tell them that it was by mistake and offcourse documents will support too.

Not a problem here. This was obviously a honest mistake. You can and should mention to the VO during the interview and correct it right there.

This will not cause any problems to you.

See, the thing is a lot many people lie on the forms and during the interview, that's what causes issues.

In your case, it was a mistake, just an error, that's it.

While VFS people go thro the documents, your mother can mention the mistake which is a human error and they will correct. If not, the VO will correct manually. You need not worry on this. Only thing you should conduct mock interviews and prepare well for the interview.

I agree with all advisors here. No need to cancel the appointment. Just make a manual correction and sign/initial there. But do try to consult with VFS once before going for the interview seeking advice about this issue. When you actually take the interview, make sure that is the first thing you tell the VO about.
