B2 visa for parents attending graduation

Hi,
My graduation is on the 18th of May and my dad has his B2 visa interview on May 7th. Do you think the short time gap will be an issue? Much appreciate your thoughts and experiences.

Should not be a problem for Visa, however if you are waiting to get your flight tickets done after visa then it will be little late.
