Visitor VISA Approved!

Hi,

My parents visitor VISA got approved today at Mumbai Consulate.

Thanks Immegration help for the extensive tips to prepare documentation, guidelines to fill form and making affadavits.

Thanks for the big list of question and answer section which helped them alot.

Last but not the least thanks to all forum members who helped me.

I am giving here brief summary so that it will help people.

Procedure Started - 30th March 2010
VISA Fees paid - 4th April 2010
DS160 submitted - 7th April
Interview date booked on - 9th April 2010 for 29th April
Documents mailed - 15th April
Visitor's Documents ready - 20th April
Docs submited to VFS - 21st April

Interview Date - 29th April 2010 12PM

Questions asked.

What is the name of your son's company?
Can you show us his VISA?
Who is paying for this trip?
How much is his salary?
Does your daughter in law works?
Do you know which Muslim countries your son visited in past? (I visited many muslim countries as part of my job)
Is he coming back to India next year?

To my mother
What is full name of your son?
What is his birth date?
What is the age of your grand son?
Is he US born?

Your visa is granted. You will receive it in mail after 4-5days.

Collect on same day

Congratulations Prashant.

My in-laws will be going for an interview to Mumbai consulate as well on Thursday . Hope everything goes fine. Do you know if they will be able to collect the passport on the same day at Mumbai? Please let me know.

parents can ask VO if they can collect passports at the counter in the evening. In case of my parents, VO said it will not be possible to collect passports on same evening. It can be collected next day. I am not sure why but may be as interview was over by 4, it was late for them. so finally my father said it is ok to send by blue dart.

As per the vfs website you can collect passport between 5.00PM to 5.30PM IST on same day.
