I have a sister, brother in law and two nephews and a niece in this country who I am extremely close to - how do I show this as evidence to the embassy?

Thanks for your reply - we have other things like a house, job breaks for my partners work, getting married before we go, itinerary but the one thing i really need to show for my side is the family connection - how do I prove this?

Civil documents such as birth certificate, marriage certificate etc.

how will those documents prove a family connection? my sister has a completely separate surname to me? How can I prove the connection to my sister? she is my main source of support in the UK

That's easy!
Your birth certificate and hers will prove that you are siblings with the same set of parents.
Her marriage certificate will explain why her last name is different from yours.

what happens if i cant get hold of her birth cert and marriage cert - is it possible to take a letter from her - its not for sponsorship as she is here in the UK its to prove I have a connection here

to do this I would need to get her birth certificate, divorce cert, new marriage cert and all my documents (which I have) this is not possible - surely there is another way to show a family connection?
