tourist visa for recently widowed mother

Hi everyone

I am a US citizen. My mother in India got widowed recently. For a change of scene, I would like to take her to US on a tourist visa for a few months. Did any of us have this or a similar issue? She is eligible for drop box facility to renew her B2 visa. There is a question in DS-160 about the candidate's marriage status. I am worried that we will say she is widowed and her visa gets denied. Any thoughts, suggestions or sharing of experience?

Hi,
Per my knowledge, this will not be a reason to reject the visa.. If She proofs that, she will stay with you only for short period and there is no intention to settle in USA.. If she shows, she has strong tie up with home country then will not have any issues to achieve visa.
