Hello
During my last visit to the USA in 2020, when the COVID crisis started, I had to extend my visa stay due to airport closures.
I had a medical emergency and I had to use emergency Medicaid insurance to cover my medical bills in the emergency hospital. I am planning to renew my expired B1/B2 visitor visa as I plan to visit my brother who lives in the USA again. Does using emergency Medicaid insurance in the past affect my eligibility for B1/B2 visa renewal ? Is it a subject for public charge and denial for my visa renewal application ?
In my interview for visa renewal they asked me why did I over stay my 6 months, I mentioned COVID and medical emergency. Officer asked for medical bill from the hospital showing that I paid for my medical services.
I have a medical bill showing zero balance from the hospital but paid by Medicaid, but if submit it would I get visa denial ?
Please Help !!
Thank you.
