visitor visa extension

hi,

i have applied for extension for my mother and her I-94 ends this jan 23rd.
we have got the receipt no. and after that no reply. we applied on Dec 28th 2005. can she stay till we get a reply? please advice

If you applied for an extension around 45 days from expiry of I-94, your further stay from extention application date upto 120 days are not considered as overstay. However, if your visa extension is not granted, you have to leave immediately, and will not get 120 day window.

My mother in law's I-94 was given only for 3 months, but still we have extended it . Is it ok for her to stay till she gets her extension reply?. Please advice
