Hello,
My MIL entered the USA on 19th December 2020. Her I-94 states that she can stay here till 18th June 2021 (6 months from the date of entry). However, due to the increasing number of COVID cases in India, we filed I-539 to extend her stay until 31st July 2021. We were hoping that the number of cases will go down by July end, but that does not seem to be the case. We want to file another application to extend her stay till October end. In the end, her total stay in the USA will be around 10 months.
I am looking for answers to the following questions -
-- Is it possible to file for another extension while the first one's adjudication is still pending?
-- Does this affect her visa status and her chance of re-entering in the future?
-- Is there any long-term impact of her overstaying while waiting for a response from the USCIS?
