  • Visa Extension - Online tracking - Question

    My parents have got a 10 year multiple entry visa and their I-94 allows them to stay for 6 months (till June 15, 2005). I have applied for the extension of their stay and have received the receipt of the application from USCIS. When I try to access the website to know the status of the request I am getting the following error message.

    “Status for this Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the service center where you submitted your application. “

    Has anyone experienced such a situation? I tried to call up USCIS and they also give the same message.
    Please advise.

      I would not pay too much attention to the automated website status stuff. Perhaps you can check back later to see if it is entered into their systems (they do it so often, and it may get updated as and when your case is updated by the USCIS personnel).

        Thanks for your reply. It is almost 2 weeks since I have got the receipt and the system is not updated as yet. I am a touch concerned. Anyway let me wait for some more time.

          I think you should be seeing some status by this time. Are you entering your details correctly? I would suggest that you should call USCIS once again and try to speak to an operator instead of the automated announcement.
