  • Visitor medical insurance for parents

    Hi,

My parents will be in US from India for a period of 3 months. My mother is 59 yrs and has pre-existing heart ailment and is diabetic. However she is completely fit now. My father is 60 yrs and does not have any history of a major ailment.
Can I purchase a travel medical insurance for my mother which would provide coverage in case of any heart related issues. Do I need a certificate from a cardiologist stating confirming her fitness to travel ?

    thanks

There are several plans available that would cover acute onset of pre-existing conditions. https://www.insubuy.com/visitor-insu...ng-conditions/

Those products are listed at https://www.insubuy.com/pre-existing...lth-insurance/

You can make side by side comparison of those plans at https://www.insubuy.com/ and get all the details as well as make an instant purchase online.

You don't need to submit any medical records or certificates to purchase any of the plans.
    Thanks & Regards

      Insubuy,

I see you are very active here in these forum, thx for that. But I am curious. What's the advantage of buying from you as agent as opposed to buying directly say at Atlas America?

Also how do you differentiate yourself from so many other agent websites?

After buying the policy, if I have doubts or questions on how to effectively use to policy off hours (say late night US EST) OR holidays, will a *knowledgeable* rep be available over phone 24/7? In short, what's the means to contact you off/odd hours? Or should we call the provider HCC directly?

      thx

Please read first FAQ at https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-medical-insurance/

Please note that we don't work for any particular insurance company but work for you. There is no difference in price anywhere. You get more service at no extra cost. If you buy directly from the insurance company, they must charge you the same by law. However, there is no one on your side to help you if there is any problem later and you are on your own.

We have been in business much longer than most other similar agents. We do many things to help you at every stage. For example, play with our online Atlas application vs anywhere else. You will have much smoother experience at Insubuy.com and the application is not confusing at all. We even send you additional renewal notices from our side to remind you that no other agent I know sends. Exclusively at Insubuy, you can renew Atlas for as little as one day. In case you need to cancel the insurance, we have a sophisticated system to automatically escalate it to approriate higher authority in case there is no timely response. We have direct access to any level of management at several insurance companies in case there is any problem. We would do our best to resolve your issues as quickly as possible. And finally, we are the largest seller of Atlas America plan in the world. And that is primarily due to the level of service we provide.

If there is a life threating emergency in the middle of the night, you would simply call 911 and/or call the emergency assistance company which is really not even HCC. No other regular customer service people are available anywhere (because it is not needed). Please note that even HCC's regular customer service is only 8 AM to 6 PM type, Monday through Friday and not 24/7. Also, as soon as you call them, first thing you hear is something like "We do not take responsibility for whatever the reps on the phone talk. Everything would be according to policy wording". On the other hand, we don't work like that. Anyone that answers the phone calls at Insubuy is a knowledgeable and experienced licensed insurance agent. We are open for much longer hours than any other competitor that I know of (in visitors insurance market) and most are 8 to 5, Monday to Friday type. On the other hand, we are open 7 days a week. We are open from 8 AM to 9 PM Central, Monday through Friday, and 8 AM to 5 PM, on Saturday and Sunday. In short, we are available to the maximum possible practically.

Please note that you don't really need to call at odd hours to understand how the plan works or what the status of your claim is etc. Even my Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance (through work at Insubuy) is not open in the middle of the night. Earlier, we used to have Aetna, United Healthcare for ourselves and none of those companies were available in the middle of the night to discuss anything at any time.

Another example, we are promptly answering your questions at this late in the evening while most others including HCC are closed. (Try contacting). Additionally, HCC is closed on several holidays plus for most long weekends, they are closed for additional half day before that long weekend. (We observe only 7 federal holidays per year and don't close early before long weekends. We have answered calls on many big holidays but that is not guaranteed.). However, again, that is not going to put you in any trouble at any time. The point I am trying to make is you don't need 24/7 availability for any practical purpose. For precertification in case of unforeseen emergency, you can call them later when they open (say on Monday) or as soon as practically possible.

Of course, I can't comment on the level of service (lack of) other agents provide.

I hope that answers your questions.

If you have any other specific question or kind of advantage you are looking for, please post here so that we can clarify. Otherwise, you can purchase it online at https://www.insubuy.com/atlasamerica-insurance/

I am been looking at Atlas America comprehensive plan, under "Outstanding restrictions" it says: treatments to diseases of the skin are excluded?

Does this mean if my Dad or Mom say get some skin infection or rash (which may be common with sudden change in place, weather, water etc) ... this plan will NOT cover anything for doctor visits related to that?

The Liaison continent A doesn't seem to have such an "Outstanding Restriction" clause as far as I can tell? Am I right?

You have understood it correctly. Atlas America has the skin disease exclusion. The scenario you described will not be covered at all. On the other hand, Liaison Continent (or any of other visitors insurance plans) does not have that restriction. You can purchase Liaison Continent insurance at https://www.insubuy.com/safe-travels...ive-insurance/

This is yet another example of good service. We have made "Outstanding Restrictions" sections for every plan so that you were quickly able to figure out something important that you should know. No other web site I know has such sections.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.

Thx. So how can I speak to you specifically tomorrow? Had a few more questions before I buy one or the other...

Also, I assume both Altas and Liaison continent A cover for sickness (including onset of existing condition) during their air travel to the US from India.

                1. If you like, you can call now till 9 PM Central. Otherwise, we open again tomorrow at 8 AM Central.

                2. Yes, that is correct.

So on second thought, I feel that not having coverage for skin related diseases is OK. Esp since my parents don't have any known issues with skin. What are your thoughts based what you have seen?

Since I'll opting for 1K or 2.5K deductible, even if I take a policy that offers skin related aliment coverage, I'll be paying all from my pocket unless that skin issue treatment cost exceeds my deductible of 2.5K. (which I feel is unlikely).
