  • Good insurance for parents arriving in Seattle Washington

    Hi folks,
I am looking for advise on which insurance is good for parents (Age 55 and 53) coming to Seattle. From comparison on insubuy.com Atlas America and Patriot America looks good, I wanted to check about their in network coverage in Washington and any other recommendations.

    Thanks in advance.

You can search for the providers in the network at

    Atlas America: https://www.insubuy.com/hccmis-ppo-network/
    Patriot America: https://www.insubuy.com/img-first-health-ppo-network/

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks any other recommendations on which one is better. I am reading both good and bad reviews for both of them, so little confused. Also one question, should I buy directly from AtlasAmerica site or from any agent sites? does that make any difference?

I have one more question, I read that Atlas America doesn't completely cover Urgent Care and I have to give $50 flat for each visit. However I do see some of the urgent cares in their PPO network list that you sent, would I have to pay $50 for those urgent cares as well. I appreciate your help on this.

There is really no such as thing as direct Atlas America web site. Those web sites are in fact run by other agents. For example, http://www.atlasamericainsurance.com and http://www.atlasamerica.net are our web sites. Of course, https://www.insubuy.com is our main web site where multiple products are available.

There is really no difference in price, no matter from where you purchase it. However, there is definitely a difference in service. Please read first FAQ at https://www.insubuy.com/visitors-medical-insurance/ If you buy directly from the insurance company, you don't get any benefit (in price or any other) but if you have any claim problem in future, you are own your own and there will be no one on your side to help you.

Please call us and we will guide to select the right plan and answer your questions.
          Thanks & Regards

Hi Satk... I also live in Seattle and looking for visitor insurance for my mother-in-law. Could you please tell me why you chose Atlas America with respect to accepted hospitals.

                Hi,
Both Patriot America and Atlas America were more or less same in terms of hospital coverage, so I just went through Atlas America. Not much experience with reclaims though yet, my mother had to go to dentist only once for tooth pain and I will post here about how the insurance coverage goes for that incase that helps.

Just wanted to update folks here regarding claims that Atlas America didn't cover the visit to dentist, though I bought the dental coverage. The EOB I got from them just says "Not Covered".
I am still waiting for EOB for an urgent care visit, let's see what do they cover in that.

Atlas America (or any other visitors insurance) is a medical insurance and not dental insurance.

Therefore, dental claims are not covered, unless for
                    * an injury to sound/natural tooth because of an accident, up to the policy maximum.
                    * acute onset of pain, up to $250 total.

All other dental claims are explicitly excluded.

Therefore, it seems that they have processed the claim correctly according to how they should have.

For dental coverage, please look at separate Careington dental plan at https://www.insubuy.com/careington-dental-vision-plan/

I hope that answers your questions.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to post them here or contact us at any time.
                    Thanks & Regards

I believe this was the case for my mother's visit to dentist, for which doctor suggested some pain killer and anitbiotics. And the total expense was $150. But I know visitor insurance companies will try their best to not cover something and present some clauses(like pre-existing condition or something else) when it comes for claims. Anyway my parents are gone now so don't need new dental insurance now but it would certainly help other readers here. Thanks for sharing the new dental plan.
