Are Consultation fees covered under insurance policy

Hello Narendra,

My mom is 55 years and suffering from diabetic foot.We are currently taking medical help in India. I would like to consult doctors at the wound care center in USA. Would the doctors consultation be covered under the comprehensive insurance plan. Also, please suggest the best insurance policy for this case. Please note that we would like to only consult and not take any line of treatement in USA since they are visiting me only for a month. Please advice.

That would NOT be covered under and visitors insurance policy.

Whether it is consultation or treatment, for insurance company, it is giving money to the provider. And no insurance company covers pre-existing conditions for visitors to US.

If you would like to get her consulted with doctor in US, you will have to pay for it yourself. I don't see any other option.
