  • Pre-existing condition coverage

    1. I need coverage for my in-laws from Jan 12th when they land in the USA. If I opt to receive the insurance package in postal mail (instead of on-line), do I need to make sure I have the package in my hands when my in-laws land here. Or, is it just enough if I have the confirmation from your website?

    2. My father-in-law is diabetic, but under total control. Is this considered a pre-existing condition? If I purchase a "Fixed Coverage" package, what are the limitations that I will face in a medical situation, as compared to a "Comprehensive Coverage" package?

    1. You don't need to have package in your hands before they arrive here. You can print the temporary card at any time at https://www.insubuy.com/img/id-card/ which is as good as real card for all practical purposes.

    2. Diabetes will be considered as pre-existing condition and it will not be covered (same for all plans from all companies).

Insurance is only for any medical condition after the effective date of the policy.
Read https://www.insubuy.com/guide/terms.jsp?section=fixed and https://www.insubuy.com/guide/terms.jsp?section=comprehensive for the differences.

I have a question about the Comprehensive coverage (Protection America). Suppose I took "$50000 maximum, $2500 deductible" package. Throughout the coverage period, if the medical treatments costed me only $1000, will the insurance bear any of this amount, or will I have to bear this wholly since it is less than the deductible, $2500?

      Would appreciate a quick response.

You will have to bear entire $1000 because they are below $2500 deductible.

You must pay entire deductible before insurance company starts paying anything.
