  • So Scary and confusing

Must say the whole insurance thing is so scary.

    1. Anyways, if some condition was to be covered under IMG Protection would be covered under Patriot also, right ? I am assuming that the percetnage is different, 80% and 90% respectively, right ?

    2. if u were to go by percentage of number of folks who buy visitors insurance and get a reimbursment...what would you say...10% get the money back...or is that atuff question ? Would you happen to know ?

    3. Do the provider that you have in the IMG provider directory bill the insurance company directly or do we have to do that ?

    4. I am thinking of getting the Patriot 50,000 comprehensive coverage for my parents (59 years and 54 years). with dedcutible of 2500 USD..the thought process is ideally will not visit a doctor...and let us say by bad luck we had to ..then I can affrod to pay 2500 USD but not more than that....

    Thanks,
    Naresh

    1. What is covered and not covered is same in both Patriot America and Protection America.
You can choose 90% in Protection America as well.

    2. There is no way to know that.

    4. That's fine. Many people choose higher deductible and there is no problem with that. It is a personal choice.

      Plicy Maximum

      Hi,

Is there any suggested polciy maximum normally ?
I would think that it is a personal choice and depending on the visitor's health.

But keeping in mind the fact that an insurance does not cover pre-existing condition anyways, is there any suggested (or is the word something most folks take on an average) policy maximum that one should go for.

Also, for both IMG Protection and Patriot, if you take 3 months insurance and say one month is unused (vistors goes back in less than 2 months), can you cancel it and what are the charges ?

      Thanks for your valuable input.

Many people take $50,000 simply because that is lowest amount available for comprehensive plans.

However, that is enough when something major happens.

Even though we ourselves don't handle the claims, since morning, I have handled 2 phone calls whose parent is in the hospital who have bought $50,000 coverage and now that they feel it may not be enough for treatment, they inquired whether it would be possible to upgrade to $100,000 or $500,000. That is not possible to upgrade like that.

In my opinion, both the incidents should be covered expenses.
Incident 1: Father broke the knee when he fell down.
Incident 2: Mother broke the hip when she fell down.

Therefore, I would recommend to buy at leat $100,000 comprehensive coverage and if possible, buy $500,000.

          Thx again !!

In the reply above you probably meant, right ?

"However, that is enough when something major happens."

          or

However, that is "not" enough when something major happens ?
