Insurance to work on cruise ship

I am traveling to America to work on a cruise ship. I was told that I am covered by health insurance if I have an accident at work. I do not know what happens if I have an accident when not at work. Do I need health insurance or accident insurance?

I will be based in Florida and have a 6 month contract
