  • Questions regarding hospital payment by Insurance companies

    Hi,
I am planning to buy Protection America for my mother who is 59 years old. No pre-existing conditions apply to us. But still I have a question. Any hospital when it sends a bill, insurance companies will have a negotiated rate for each treatment and patient payment as well as insurance payment will be calculated from the negotiated rate. In the cases where insurance companies doesnot pay the claim showing any pre-existing conditions, will we benefit atleast by getting negotiated rate becuase of the agreement between the hospital and the insurance companies.

Or in case where the insurance company doesnot want to pay, will it not even help us by reducing the bill with the discounted rate.

Can you please clarify my question.

    Thanks
    Maria

Network negotiated fees are applicable only for the covered expenses.

For non-covered expenses, it would be between the patient and the provider.
    Thanks & Regards
