Visitor Insurance question

Hi,

I am looking to buy insurance for my parents visiting US for 3+ months. Both of them have conditions like BP, diabetic etc. But they are well controlled.

I am thinking Protection America or Atlas America.
My question:

1. The Atlas America has the option of "Acute Onset of pre-existing condition". If the conditions are controlled but they flare up after coming to US, are they covered under this clause?

2. Does First health PPO vs Hygeia PPO has better negotiated rates with hospitals or are they same?

2. There is no way to know like that. It can work out either way, depending upon the provider you use. In fact, Hygeia internally uses First Health in many places.

I went through the web site. Which one do you advise beased on experience? Because I have seen you mentioning many places that pre-existing conditions are never covered.

Atlas America came up with Acute onset of pre-existing conditions coverage up to $15,000 clause only on May 12, 2008. Until then, there was no product that covered pre-existing conditions in any form and those posts were made before May 12, 2008.
